Stilt House

    Like many Southeast Asian countries, the indigenous peoples of Taiwan built raised houses known as “stilt houses” for better ventilation and prevent humidity, flooding and wild animal invasions. This is a specific type of structure designed for the tropical rain forest climate. 



高腳屋



如同許多東南亞國家一樣，臺灣的原住民族為了增加房屋的通風性，避免潮濕及淹水，同時也為了防止野獸入侵，會將屋舍架高起來，稱之為「高腳屋」，這是一種當地民族用來適應熱帶雨林氣候的特色建築。
