Section by the River in Front of the Stilt House

To be shielded from the northeast monsoon in Bali, arbors are planted in a linear formation on the outside, and paper mulberry that played a significant role for the Shihsanhang is planted on the riverside outside the village. Paper mulberry might have been one of the raw materials used by the Shihsanhang to make clothes. Wild ginger flowers and shell ginger are planted on the riverbank, and soft rush and narrowleaf cattail are planted in the shallow water area as an attempt to reproduce the vegetation at the Tamsui River estuary.

高腳屋前靠河邊區塊

因應八里東北季風，外圍植栽帶狀喬木創造防風林帶，並於部落外圍靠河之處，種植與十三行人生活息息相關的構樹。構樹有可能是當時十三行人用來做衣服的原料之一，河岸邊種植野薑花和月桃，淺水區則有藺草和水蠟燭等，試著重現當時淡水河口的生態植被樣貌。
