Entrance of New Taipei City Archaeology Park: in Front of the Anthropomorphic Jar
The signboard saying “The New Taipei City Archaeology Park” at the entrance was written by academician Cheng-hwa Tsang, an archaeologist who participated in the rescue and excavation of the Shihsanhang site.
The bamboo forest imagery in the entrance area is inspired by the fact that the people of Shihsanhang grew bamboo to build houses. Besides using bamboo as the material for houses, it also shielded and protected the people from invaders and wild animals. The visual imagery is based on the Anthropomorphic Jar, the pièce de résistance of the museum, as well as the carved pottery jar, an important cultural relic of Shihsanhang Culture, to highlight its characteristics.
